NMC has issued a renewed advisory for Indian students
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a renewed advisory for Indian students considering medical education abroad.
The NMC emphasizes that many foreign private medical colleges do not adhere to its regulations, potentially affecting students' eligibility to practice in India. Key requirements include a minimum 54-month medical degree and a 12-month internship at the same institution. Non-compliance may lead to disqualification for registration in India. Students are urged to thoroughly research foreign medical institutions to ensure they meet NMC standards before enrolling.
Additionally, the NMC has closed and rejected the pending applications of 2,316 students pursuing medical courses abroad who did not meet the eligibility criteria.
In light of these developments, students are advised to consult the NMC's official guidelines and advisories when considering medical education abroad to ensure compliance with Indian medical education standards.
